TCG Standard League Tournament

  • Player 1 Services 4000 Howard Avenue Kensington, MD, 20895 United States (map)

Registration

This Standard format League Tournament is open for all ages and skill levels, with a limit of 36 total competitors. Players can register online prior to the tournament until all spots have been reserved. Players should arrive at or before 5:30 PM. Last call for registration is 5:50 PM. Walk on players from an in-person wait list can be added at 6:00 PM.

Preparation

All that you need to compete is a Pokémon Trainer Club ID, and a 60-card deck that is in current Standard rotation in matching non-transparent sleeves. 10% of these decks will need to be randomly checked by a Staff member, to ensure all cards and sleeves are tournament-legal. Final deck changes must be made before 5:50 PM. If you are unsure whether your cards are in the Standard format, just ask and we can help!

Competition

Registered players not present are dropped (or given a Round 1 loss depending on the waitlist), starting at 6:05 PM and the first swiss round starts at 6:10 PM. Swiss rounds are 30 minutes, best-of-one, + 3 turns after time.

Pairings are randomized by the tournament software and all subsequent rounds are determined by a player’s calculated win-loss ratio for direct matches. This means that each round, players are randomly paired with other players that have the same win-loss ratio. There can be up to 5 total rounds, each with 1 match. If you have questions, we’re here to answer them!
