Registration
This Video Game League Challenge is intended for all players and skill levels. Each event can host a maximum of 36 competitors. Players can register up to 2 weeks prior to the tournament start time, or on the day of the event. Registration is open until all spots have been reserved. Players should arrive at 12:30 PM on the day of the event. Last call for check-in is 12:50 PM, and registration closes at 1:00 PM.
Preparation
All participating players are responsible for bringing the TWO required versions of their Team Sheets, available here: https://www.pokemon.com/static-assets/content-assets/cms2/pdf/play-pokemon/rules/play-pokemon-vg-team-list.pdf
One Team Sheet version above is for the event organizer, and one version is for your opponents. Your Team Sheet version for your opponents to view must be printed and brought to the event. Players will be responsible for replacing their team sheet if lost or damaged. You are also encouraged to submit your two team lists to playeroneservices@gmail.com prior to the event.
All game systems must be updated to the latest version of both the system software and game software updates (Version number and most recent rule set). Players may be penalized, including disqualification, if their game does not have the latest update, or if their system is not running on the latest firmware.
Competition
The first round starts at 1:10 PM, and the first match-ups are randomized by the tournament software. All subsequent rounds are determined by a player’s calculated win-loss ratio for direct matches. This means that each round, players are randomly matched up with other players that have the same win-loss ratio within their division. We will play Best-of-3 for Swiss Rounds, followed by Best-of-3 matches for Single-elimination Top Cut (if necessary). For more info on team construction and rules here at "Play!
